This is a "Lord's Day Primer" I have borrowed and added to. Pretty sure I saw it on a SM post, maybe "X"? But, I can't remember who the original credit should go to. Essentially, a reminder and a pattern to hopefully get a believer to focus on prayerful preparation for Sunday worship and gathering.
The eve of the Lord’s Day is here:
Consider these passages as you pray:
Isaiah 6:1-4; Psalm 51; Hebrews 12:18-29; Revelation 4-5Pray for God to be glorified in all things. (Isaiah 6:1-4)
Pray for the church (saints everywhere):
- the missionaries
- the needy- the growing
Pray for your pastors and elders:
- preparing the sermon- for their family's health and well-being, and for their perseverant support- for their joy in shepherding- for protection of their soul as they prepare, deliver, and serve
Pray for your family.
Pray for personal discernment of temptation and sin and for repentance and forgiveness. (Ps 51)
Pray to be ready to worship in spirit and in truth. (Heb 12:18-29)
Pray for the Word of God to be faithfully preached and well received. (Revelation 4-5)
Pray for all those that hear the Word today:
Pray for the Word of God to be faithfully preached and well received. (Revelation 4-5)
Pray for all those that hear the Word today:
- the saints to be nourished, encouraged, and strengthened- the lost to hear the gospel, repent of their sins, and believe in the gospel.
