What does the Holy Spirit do?
RCC Believes: Riverlawn is a conservative evangelical Christian church. We are not part of the charismatic/Pentecostal churches. The Holy Spirit is ultimately unchanging and has never changed and has always been as He is. Our view of being Ephesians 5:18, being filled with the Holy Spirit, involves us allowing God’s Spirit to dictate the decisions in our lives and allowing His Word to be revealed to us. There is evidence of a life filled with the Holy Spirit. Our view of spiritual gifts is that they are all very important to helping God’s church serve Him, and everyone should use their gifts for His glory. As a conservative evangelical church, we believe that the “special” gifts were especially used in the original spread of the Gospel and can be seen today on a limited basis as much or as little as God chooses. We do not believe that one must have the gift of speaking in different tongues or miraculous healing to be considered Spirit-filled. We believe that the gifts God gives us are to be continuously used for His glory while we are still here on earth.
Memory Verse: Titus 3:5 - he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
