Sunday Studies - 03/11/12 - What is the Story of the Bible?

What is the Story of the Bible?
RCC Believes: Genesis 17:5-6 clearly state that Abram (Abraham) would be the father of many nations, and not just one nation. After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to more than just His disciples. In 1 Corinthians 15:6 the Apostle Paul records Jesus appearing to over 500 people at one time. (Many of those people would have still been alive when Paul wrote 1 Corinthians.) The salvation that Jesus offers comes to us not only through accepting His offer, repentance and following Him, but also through belief (trust) and baptism into His name. (Read Acts 2:37-41)

Memory Verse: Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

7. Ultimately, what is the basic uninterrupted truth of the Bible?

God                                        us to have fellowship and a relationship with Him.
We                                                                          from Him by our             .
There is a                             to pay for our                   .
There is nothing                can do to                                             for our                 .
God                        us to be                                                to/with Him.
There had to be a                             payment for our              .
God provided a                                                                .
                                 was God in the flesh.
                                 was                                        and completely               less.
came to be a                                                                                      and                                        for our                 .
We know this because of what God had said about the need for atonement, because God promised to send a perfect payment for our sin; because of Christ’s miraculous birth, His ministry, foretold death in fulfillment of the prophecies; miraculous resurrection, as well as His continuous ministry through the early church and today.
Christ rose from                                               , defeating                           for us.
Christ is                                 today.
We are                                                  through His                                       , and have hope in His                                        .
We anxiously wait for                                                   .
