I have been praying that God lights a new fire in my heart for Christ and those He loves. I think here is something I should be working on...
I am currently in a "discipleship" class at Riverlawn Christian Church. This class has helped me look more into how to describe what I believe, why I believe it, and even more importantly, the need to spread the message per "the great commission": 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
So, here are a few questions to answer :
What scripture can/do/will you use to back up your faith in Christ?
Why or why not, have you shared Christ with anyone?
Why or why not, are you afraid to share Christ at all?
---
I have been on a "kick" of checking out "street evangelism" and have come across some programs I think everyone should cautiously check out by using God's Word as the looking glass:
Firstly, I was looking for a pamphlet that could be handed out with a Bible that explains how to read/use the Bible. It's one thing to simply hand out a bible, but I think it is also important to lead someone who has never had/read the Bible in the right direction. As I was looking for such a document, I found one that referenced the following website:
http://ichoosejesus.com/
The only issue is the "Response" part of it. The "problem and solution" are really good, but the pamphlet/website talks about a prayer for salvation which may confuse those to thinking that all they have to do is say a prayer (doing works).
I'm having a hard time looking for - not finding, because if I took more time to, I'm sure I would find some - scripture that talks to the correct response to Christ.
I have found some things I think are responses to Christ based on scripture, but I wouldn't doubt that I would need correction and redirection in my findings and I urge you to help me in this.
Believe and be baptized:
Mark 16:16
2 Corinthians points out quite a few items on our purity conduct:
2 Cor 5:16-20; 6:3-10, 14, 17; 7:1
Obedience:
Luke 11:28
John 14:23
Romans 2:13
1 John 2:5-6
Secondly, I remember seeing Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort do some "street witnessing/evangelism" and found the clip among others here:
http://www.wayofthemaster.com/watchwitnessing.shtml
Thirdly, when I was looking for some "podcasts", I came across "wretchedradio". This is an entertaining yet "biblically educating" radio show/TV show. I have a hard time with the host's sarcasm at times, but the TV show focuses on "false teaching":
http://www.familynet.com/wretched/
The pod-casted radio program focuses on callers and usually has one or two on-the-air street evangelisms.

I do not claim to have or hold any authority in scripture and I pray that I am quick to listen and slow to speak, especially when needing correction.
